AC/DC Akkorde
AC/DC is one of the loudest hard rock bands in the world. If you haven’t heard the name of the band before, you’ve probably listened to their songs countless times without knowing. Who could ever forget the opening AC/DC chords of “Highway to Hell” or the intro riff to “Hell’s Bells” played by the Australian Sydney based rockers Angus and Malcolm Young, Cliff Williams and Brian Johnson?
The story of AC/DC is one hardcore tale of early hard rock, sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll. These pioneers begin their journey in the mid-1970s when they release the album High Voltage in 1975. The formation remains stable for most of the band’s lifespan. The only changes made in the early days are when bass player Mark Evans is replaced by Cliff Williams and Brian Johnson takes over the mic after frontman Bon Scott. Scott dies in a tragic accident involving alcohol and drugs in London 1980 after the band releases their hit record Highway to Hell.
The death of Scott sends AC/DC into a downward spiral. They fear for the future of the band and no one believes the rockers will survive this sad setback. But after a short jam session with Brian Johnson, the flame is lit again and AC/DC returns in 1980 with the epic record Back in Black. Again, once you’ve heard the raw voice of Johnson screeching over the opening chords to the title track, it’s hard to forget it. “Back in black, I hit the sack, I’ve been too long but I’m glad to be back!” If you want to play along with this track you better master the AC/DC chords E, D, and A.
After Brian Johnson suffered severe damage to his hearing in 2016 and guitarist Malcolm Young passed away in 2017, it’s gotten quite around AC/DC. Lead guitarist Angus Young has stated that he isn’t sure he would like to retire yet. Especially after touring around with Guns ‘n Roses star Axl Rose for a while. Are we ever going to hear the riff chords to “Whole Lotta Rosie” live on a stage again? Nobody knows. One thing is certain: AC/DC are forever.
