Dr. Dre Akkoorden
Born as André Rommel Young on 18th of February 1965, this artist from Compton, California is better known as the groovy hip hop producer Dr. Dre. Chords, tunes and grooves made by this godfather of the G-funk are catchy and sincere. The lyrics of his raps in the early days reflect life on the streets of Compton. Nowadays, Dr. Dre is known for his slick beats and productions, and of course as the founder of the brand Beats.
G-funk
Dr. Dre started spinning records and producing beats at a young age. Together with his first act World Class Wreckin’ Crew, he gained some local fame in the region of Los Angeles. Spinning George Clinton chords, Dr. Dre mixed P-funk tunes and melodies as a surgeon. As a matter of fact, he wore a surgeon's outfit during gigs. The story goes that Dr. Dre used 300 tracks for a 60-minute mix on stage during one of the World Class Wreckin’ Crew shows. When we talk about Dr. Dre, chords, and tunes that come to mind are always funky, always groovy. He developed and expanded his style during the period he joined N.W.A. and Ruthless Records in 1986 together with Ice-Cube, Eazy E, DJ Yella, and MC Ren.
**N.W.A. **
N.W.A. from Compton is the first gangster rap group after School D. from Philadelphia. As Dr. Dre and the rest put it, the genre is a musical documentary of what happens on the streets. Frequently addressed subjects are drugs, violence, sex, police shootings, gang wars, and people hustling to get rich or die trying in the streets of Los Angeles.
Dr. Dre chords and beats
The melodies, tunes, and chords Dr. Dre borrowed from old school funk soldiers like George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Sly and the Family Stone, and James Brown he did not sample. He used the material and re-recorded it to his liking, which makes his work ethos incredibly perfectionistic. Everyone who has worked with him from Snoop Dogg to Eminem and The Game have all stated that his beats are great, but that the time he spent creating them is enormous.
Death Row Records
After leaving Eazy E’s Ruthless Records in 1991 with a big bang and the help of his friend Suge Knight, Dr. Dre teamed up with Knight and founded Death Row Records. This is the start of an adventure in which he grows artistically, but also coaches and works on projects with new talents like Snoop Dogg and 2Pac. One important album from this period is Doggy Style.
Aftermath Entertainment and Aftermath
Dr. Dre left Death Row Records after having some differences with Suge Knight. He took a big chunk of the label’s artists with him and set up his own shop Aftermath Entertainment, which he renamed to Aftermath in 2001. In this hip hop temple, the artist is still working on the development of new sounds, beats, and tracks. If you want to know the chords to Dr. Dre’s famous songs, you don’t have to look further, ‘cause we got it all.
